    Description

Tulipa ‘Eastern Star’ has magenta-rose flowers with bronze-green flames and yellow center.

Species Tulips come in a range of colors, are low growing, have small flowers and are early flowering. Star shaped blooms open fully in direct sunlight. These tulips are suitable for rock gardens, borders and small groups. Species Tulips are great for naturalizing. Usually these bulbs are smaller than those of other species.

Tulips are hardy and like other bulbs, easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. The blooms last longer in partial shade locations. The tulips can be planted in Fall when the soil temperature falls below 55F to make sure they root well. The best planting time is when the night time temperatures are between 40-50F. For best results, tulips need approximate 12 weeks of temperatures below 50F. The bulbs prefer to be left in the ground to multiply naturally.
