    Description

Tulipa ‘Showwinner’ has bright scarlet flowers with a yellow golden center.

Kaufmanniana Tulips are suitable for rock gardens, borders and small groups. The flowers open in sunlight to form an almost flat hexagonal star. The inside of the flowers is mostly brighter than the outside, very short stems and early flowering. Handsomely mottled leaves, depending on the cultivar the foliage is plain blueish green or chocolate brown striped.

Tulips are hardy and like other bulbs, easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. The blooms last longer in partial shade locations. The tulips can be planted in Fall when the soil temperature falls below 55F to make sure they root well. The best planting time is when the night time temperatures are between 40-50F. For best results, tulips need approximate 12 weeks of temperatures below 50F. The bulbs prefer to be left in the ground to multiply naturally.
