    Description

Muscari ‘Dark Eyes’ has dark blue flowers with white edges.

Muscari (Grape Hyacinth) species are hardy, grow well in any well-drained soil. They are extremely easy to cultivate, a must for every garden. Nothing can create a blanket of blue in the Spring garden quite like Muscari. Although related to Hyacinths, they are quite different in appearance. Grape Hyacinths have little fragrance, they are inexpensive and multiply rapidly. Their small flowers appear in grape-like clusters and are especially attractive under deciduous trees or flowering trees. Also great between steppingstones of planted massed as a border in the garden.

Muscari are hardy and like other bulbs, easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. The blooms last longer in partial shade locations. The Muscari can be planted in Fall when the soil temperature falls below 55F to make sure they root well. The best planting time is when the night time temperatures are between 40-50F. For best results, Muscari need approximate 12 weeks of temperatures below 50F.
