    Description

Leucojum Aestivum’ has white nodding bell-shaped flowers with green-tipped petals, up to 4-8 flowers per stem.

Leucojum Aestivum (Summer Snowflake) species are very easy to grow, often confused with Galanthus (Snowdrops) and Convallaria (Lily of the Valley) except for its height and bigger flowers. Even though it has the name ‘Aestivum’ (of the Summer) this species flowers in April-May. Great for borders, rock gardens, under shrubs and trees and as cut flowers.

Leucojum are hardy and like other bulbs, easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. The blooms last longer in partial shade locations. The Leucojum can be planted in Fall when the soil temperature falls below 55F to make sure they root well. The best planting time is when the night time temperatures are between 40-50F. For best results, Leucojum need approximate 12 weeks of temperatures below 50F.
