    Description

Dutch Iris ‘Golden Beauty’ has brilliant yellow-tangerine flowers.

Dutch Iris are well named, the name Iris comes from Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, reflecting the fact that almost every color of the spectrum can be found in their flowers. Dutch Iris are grown on a large scale for use as cut flower, also great for beds and borders. Bulbs can be left in the ground, but leaves should not be cut off until they are completely dried. The 4 inch flowers are borne on strong stems. If seed pods are formed they should be removed to promote growth of the daughter bulbs.

Dutch Iris are hardy and like other bulbs, easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. The blooms last longer in partial shade locations. The Dutch Iris can be planted in Fall when the soil temperature falls below 55F to make sure they root well. The best planting time is when the night time temperatures are between 40-50F. For best results, Dutch Iris need approximate 12 weeks of temperatures below 50F.
