    Description

Anemone De Caen 'Mix’ is an impressive blend of outstanding colors.

Anemone Coronaria is widely cultivated for use as a cut-flower. The flowers are 2 inches in diameter and are characterized by a preeminent black heart, surrounded by a white or cream corolla separating it from the predominate color of the petals. Long stamens surround the center and the relatively few leaves are delicately divided.

Anemone are hardy and like other bulbs, easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. The blooms last longer in partial shade locations. This species is not very hardy, they should be planted in a protected area of the garden and mulched for the winter months. Before planting, the bulbs should be soaked in luke-warm water for 24 hours. The Anemone can be planted in Fall when the soil temperature falls below 55F to make sure they root well. The best planting time is when the night time temperatures are between 40-50F. For best results, Anemone need approximate 12 weeks of temperatures below 50F.
