    Description

Daffodil ‘King Alfred’ has large golden yellow flowers with large yellow trumpet cup.

Daffodil Trumpet cultivars are one of the most widely cultivated types. The trumpet is equal to or longer than the segments of the perianth. All cultivars have one flower to a stem. Many gardeners are confused by the words “Daffodil” and “Narcissus”. To set the record straight, you can use Daffodil and Narcissus interchangeable – they refer to the same group of bulbs. Narcissus is the botanical name and Daffodil is the common English Name.

Daffodils (Narcissus) are hardy and like other bulbs, easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. The blooms last longer in partial shade locations. The Daffodlis can be planted in Fall when the soil temperature falls below 55F to make sure they root well. The best planting time is when the night time temperatures are between 40-50F. For best results, Daffodils need approximate 12 weeks of temperatures below 50F.
